Georgia’s Peterborough Half Marathon

14th October 2018

Georgia Calver will be taking part in the Peterborough Great Eastern Half Marathon Run, raising both funds for The Trust and awareness of nut allergies.
Georgia’s sister lives with a severe nut allergy so she is passionate about increasing understanding and spreading the word of how seriously allergies have to be taken.

Paddy’s ‘One Last Time’

Sunday 21st October 2018

On Sunday 21st October this year, Paddy Richardson will be taking part ‘One last Time’ in a Banger race, at the Arena Essex Raceway, in Purfleet Essex, in the PRI Legends Meeting for the Ronnie Martin Memorial Trophy. He will be raising funds for both The Amy May Trust and The Meningitis Foundation.

He tells us “I do not consider myself as a “Legend”, I prefer to say “Veteran”, but I was lucky enough to race during the 80’s and 90’s, with some real Legends of Ovals, and have so many fond memories of this time”

Nash’s London Marathon

Nash Crosbie-Hill was delighted to receive a ballot place for The London Marathon 2019. Nash, lives with a severe allergy to nuts and sesame seeds and the extreme difficulty that this brings.

Laura’s Ironman 70.3

24th August 2019

Ironman 70.3 in Vichy, France.

Laura Fernandez Alonso will be undertaking the enormous challenge of the Ironman 70.3 event in Vichy, next summer. This event will see her swim 1.2 miles, cycle 56 miles and then finish with a 13.1 mile run. So impressive!

Dave and Russ’s Mt Kilimanjaro Climb

August 30th – September 5th

Dave Ricketts and Russ Parker are to take on the daunting challenge of a 7 day expedition to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
The intimidating height of almost 6000 metres would test the perseverance and strength of most of us mere mortals so we wish every good luck to these two ex military conquerors.

Lee Gardiner has always boxed for fitness and fun, but never has he taken on a fight. This Autumn he is doing just that, throwing and taking the punches for Amy.

Team Amy May Trust: The 2018 Moonlight Colourthon

The Moonlight Colourthon is a walking half marathon set against the backdrop of Southend by night. Walkers leave Chalkwell Park at 6pm and walk the 13+ mile course taking in the sights of  the Westcliff clifftops, Southend pier and the seafront, Leigh fishing sheds and back to the finish line in Chalkwell Park

Three Peaks Challenge for Amy May

6th June 2018

Dave Ricketts is part of a team of seven walkers, Jon Lord, Mark Taylor, Rich Worrin, Nic Lawson, Steve Coghlan and Pete Frake, who are taking on The Three Peaks Challenge in June, attempting to conquer Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mt Snowden within 24 hours.
This is the first of two challenges that Dave is taking on this year to raise funds for Amy, a close friend of his daughter in law, the other being climbing Kilimanjaro a little later in the year.

Ann’s Derby Half Marathon

3rd June 2018

Ann Priestley is taking part in the Derby Half Marathon this summer.

The impressive route takes runners into the city centre, through both the  historic market place and stunning Elvaston Castle Country Park and finishes at Pride Park.

Mount Snowden Climb for Amy and The Stroke Association

6th May 2018

A family team are taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Snowden on May 6th to raise funds equally for The Amy May Trust along with The Stroke Association.

Both of these great causes are very dear to the hearts of Vicki, Debbie, Lorraine, Lynsey and Keith, as one of their own family member has a nut allergy, and Mum / Aunt suffered a serious stroke. As they train and take on this arduous challenge they will have their own loved Auntie May and our Amy May close in mind. 

Ellen’s London Marathon

22nd April 2018

Ellen Flanagan will be taking part in the renowned London Marathon on April 22nd.Every step of the world famous 26.2 mile route will see her challenge herself and raise funds to help Amy’s journey of progression. Good luck Ellen!

Tamsin’s London Marathon

22nd April 2018

Tamsin Lovett is running the world renowned London Marathon in April. Both Tamsin’s daughter and Father suffer from anaphylaxis so she is acutely aware of just how important awareness and understanding from others can be.

Sue’s London Marathon

Sue Billington is running the famous London Marathon in April.
During Amy’s childhood Sue used to live nearby to the family and remembers Amy during her growing up years.
Good luck Sue, we will be wishing you well for every one of the 26 miles!

Team MBS Obstacle Challenge

24th March 2018

Maldon Building Services are the contractors who are building the annex onto Amy’s parents, Sue and Roger’s home which will enable them to bring Amy home to live. This wonderful company have taken on the project on a non profit basis, and along with contactors who have generously donated their materials or time, this will see the project completed within months allowing this huge next step in Amy’s journey to take place.
All sponsorship monies that are that are raised by TEAM MBS as they take part in the obstacle race in Danbury will be put towards this very specialist build.

80 at 80 for Amy

Celebrating a milestone birthday soon, Lyn Hopkins has chosen to mark the occasion by doing something very special, a challenge which many of us would find ambitious at any age.

Lyn is the mother of Amy’s physiotherapist Nigel Kimpton, and will be swimming a length of the pool for every candle on her birthday cake! Amazing.

John and James Half Marathon

25th February 2018. POSTPONED

Due to injury, this event has been postponed, we will post an update on a new date as soon as we know!

John Aves and James Vanstone will be taking on the Brighton half Marathon on February 25th.
This is a new experience for our regular loyal supporter John who has taken on many a challenge in his friend Amy’s name. We welcome James who has run before to our growing number of fantastic friends of The Trust. Thank you both.
